The role:

Budgetplaces seeks to hire a world class User Experience (UX) Manager with the sole mission of improving the user experience of our websites. Using analytics data, booking funnel analysis, user testing and feedback, the User Experience (UX) Manager will propose website changes and improvements, and work across departments to get these changes and features planned, designed, programmed, and put live onto the website.

The User Experience (UX) Manager is a very detail oriented individual who will manage user research, process flow and creative design and UI implementation. He or she will work inclose collaboration across other business areas and IT. We are looking for somebody with an analytical mindset who can effectively combine qualitative and quantitative insights to drive the UX plan, improvements and new feature prioritization. The position is based at the headquarters in Barcelona reporting directly to the CEO.

General Responsibilities:

  • Create, execute and communicate the UX and design vision and strategy, including creative direction and user research.
  • Develop, prioritise and maintain a user experience improvement plan for the Budgetplaces websites and mobile apps.
  • Prioritise improvements and projects according to the business plan.
  • Understand customers; define user requirements; and execute information design, visual design, and design integration into a cohesive multi-channel, multi-language user experience.
  • Oversee design and delivery of user experience specifications and research for initiatives.
  • Manage relationship with business stakeholders to identify and develop the functions and features of the site and define the overall user experience.
  • Interact with Product and Development teams.
  • Ensure quality and usefulness of internal UX deliverables to the Development team, including front-end mark-up, graphics, and UI specifications.
  • Direct a team consisting of Graphic Designers, Design Specialists and Video creators in the research, design and development of a cohesive, multi-channel, multi-language user experience for Budgetplaces websites and mobile apps.
  • Use qualitative research collected by the team in user testing activities and combine these analytics collected in A/B and Multivariate experiments to drive plan and decisions.
  • Create processes and initiatives that support brand consistency and process efficiencies to maximize team productivity.
  • Execute and deliver products that combine strong usability and an engaging, clean aesthetic.
  • Plan resource and budget for team of 5+

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Graphic Design or other design-related discipline, Master degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years related experience.
  • 2+ supervisory experience, providing art direction to designers and UI developers.
  • Obsessed by details and real user experience champion.
  • Experience with Web analytics, A/B and Multivariate testing planning and interpretation.
  • Proven experience of direct collaboration with development teams, business stakeholders and analytics teams.
  • Knowledge of User-Centered Design principles and proven understanding of the interactive design process.
  • Understanding of business modeling and business strategy planning.
