THE ROLE

We offer deeply functional, incredibly powerful enterprise software to help our customers manage some of the world's most complex businesses. Our robust system, designed for expert users, needs an experienced designer who can:

  • Collaborate with business and technical partners to drive business and system requirements
  • Establish and build relationships with external customers for on-going research
  • Elegantly articulate user journeys for completing complex tasks
  • Validate design decisions ã and gain buy-in from internal partners ã by creating and conducting user research and design workshops
  • Deliver design documentation (wireframes/prototypes/specs) and partner with developers to build customer-facing interfaces and workflows
  • Manage multiple projects at one time, switching focus between projects to manage priorities
  • Identify and advocate for future product improvements
  • Rally our internal colleagues around user experience principles

This role is independent and highly autonomous within a growing, global UX team. It is perfect for a self-starter. It demands a high-functioning professional who can work deeply with the product team. At the same time, the designer will contribute to the existing UX team; sharing best practices, new processes, and lessons learned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Designing elegant solutions for enterprise software, including very complex workflows, as illustrated through user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, flowcharts, specifications, etc.
  • Conducting task and systems analyses to understand the technical requirements and limitations, as illustrated through flowcharts, diagrams, etc.
  • Creating and conducting user research and usability testing, as illustrated through interview scripts, paper or online prototypes, observation artifacts, test documentation and reports, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of application standards and usability, as illustrated through mockups, design artifacts, etc.
  • Collaborating with product and technical engineers to implement new features, as illustrated through accounts of project constraints and trade-offs, processes, etc.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • A UX-related degree: Human-Computer Interface Design, Psychology, Interaction Design, etc. Experience in user research: interviewing users, usability testing, observing, etc
  • Experience planning and leading design sessions: mapping user journeys, facilitating co-creation workshops, etc
  • Familiarity with emotional design principles
  • Working knowledge of standard UX tools: wireframing and prototyping (Axure, OmniGraffle, Visio, etc) and graphical editors (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
  • Agile development skills
  • Affinity for visual aesthetics and graphical design
