alpha is Telefonica’s big bets innovation company. Telefonica is a telephone company with 320 million customers which operates in Europe (UK, Spain, Germany) and in Latin America.

alpha, in stealth mode, with multi-million backing, and access to massive data sets is building an ideation team to work on groundbreaking and life changing projects and products in the healthcare sector.

We are aiming to affect millions of lives for societal good and are searching for a UX Research intern who is looking to learn more about and help change the world.

You will work on:

  • Assist in the set-up, organization and execution of usability tests on-site and remotely
  • Work with the UX researcher and designers to have guerilla usability tests as part of the design process
  • Help in the selection and management of analytics tools for web, mobile app and API’s
  • Test options using A/B and multi-variate testing
  • Assist in the analysis of data from analytics, usability and customer feedback tools on a regular basis and synthesize/ distill it into meaningful data
  • Work closely with the UX researcher and designers on improving user journeys, user flows and the design based on these insights

Our team is still in its early stages and the sky's the limit. We want an intern who wants to get his/her hands dirty and get out and work with real users. We will make sure it is an enriching experience for you, both personally and professionally.

Diverse team

Along with data scientists, voice scientists, designers, UX researchers, service designers, and front end developers among others, you will work to create new services and have a direct impact on the success of the product. People in our team are from diverse backgrounds as Finland, Holland, US, Russia, Serbia, Greece, Spain, UK and Venezuela, and we normally talk in English (or Spanish). We try to keep our processes as light as possible and apply lean startup and lean UX. No long reports or long requirements lists.


Experience helps, but willingness to learn and communication skills are key.

You should be:
• A student of UX, HCI, design, psychology, service design, anthropology, or another related field
• Free to work 20 - 30 hours a week (flexible schedule to combine with your studies)


As we are testing (remotely) in various countries, good written and spoken level of English and Spanish are required.
