Summary of the job

This role is for an experienced and passionate UX/UI Manager. This position will have a significant impact on the business by leading the strategic design direction for all Amadeus public digital channels (I.e. Amadeus for Developers Program and its convergence with existing API initiatives, the Amadeus network of websites, the Amadeus Corporate blog, the Amadeus social media channels, etc). You are a self-starter, bringing together a strong experience in UX design and research, as well as graphic design. As UX/UI Manager you will lead efforts to conduct user research, prototyping and wireframe design, and collaborate with marketing teams and IT teams to establish a user experience vision that will bring Amadeus brand promise to life.

You must also have strong project management skills to successfully deliver upon multiple web initiatives simultaneously. You shall be detail oriented and thorough in the approach to projects. The role requires to be comfortable in communicating with cross-functional teams, knowledgeable with the latest trends and advancements in web technology and be able to confidently provide expert opinions and solutions. In addition to web expertise, this position requires a user-centric mindset, a focus on continuous improvement and a willingness to take risks.

Main responsibilities

1.Strategy Definition and User Experience transformation execution

The scope of this area will be supervised by a Senior Manager of Digital Communication. The UX/UI Manager will be responsible:

To first drive the definition of Amadeus digital experience Strategy:

a) To first understand all the different objectives of the several digital initiatives ongoing in Amadeus (all on-line public facing properties). Then to connect with the current vision and objectives at Corporate level. An assessment on competition and Business Strategy paper recommendations may be required as well.
b) Then to define an overall single-vision for Amadeus and all Programs, stating the objectives and priorities and the connections between all Amadeus frameworks.
c) Then to translate the desired User Experience Strategy into the clear actionable steps required to be executed.

Secondly, to drive the transformation execution:

  • To lead UX strategies on amadeus.com and all public customer-facing experiences (I.e. Amadeus for Developers Program and its convergence with existing API initiatives, the Amadeus network of websites, the Amadeus Corporate blog, the Amadeus social media channels, etc).
  • To lead and guide Amadeus main stakeholders and agencies through a digital ecosystem modernization effort to achieve Amadeus business objectives and ensure a cohesive and seamless user experience across all public digital channels. The role requires to be 100% customer focused, and to lead through effective story-telling. It also needs the identification of cross-team dependencies in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • For every existing and new framework/initiative, it will require to:

a) Identify business problems, formulate hypotheses, develop analytic plans and conduct them, synthesize conclusions into actionable solutions, and help implement recommendations.
b) Apply user-centered design principles, methodologies, best practices and approaches, particularly as applied to web- and mobile-based applications
c) Provide strategic direction in user research activities, voice of the customer feedback tools, and creation of personas, journeys, scenarios, interaction and experience models.

2.Amadeus for Developers Program Focus

The scope of this area will be supervised by a Senior Manager of Corporte Strategy. This focus is expected to take similar amount of time efforts than the previous objective. The UX/UI Manager responsibilities will cover:

  • To define and secure the right definition and execution of the User Experience and graphic design (User Interface) of the strategic Amadeus for Developers Program, a new Innovation vehicle for the company
  • The role involves defining user personas, customer journeys and interaction flows.
  • Responsible for designing wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes, as well as to conduct user tests and iterate on the designs based on users' feedback
  • The responsibilities include supporting Product Management to create user stories, to ensure all graphic design proposals are effectively implemented by the development team
  • The position will be in charge of defining the optimal touch points with the rest of Amadeus Digital Frameworks to maximize the adoption and right flow of users through Amadeus ecosystem.
  • The role with require to work very close to the Program ring-fenced team, including Product Management, Content Marketing, and the development team.

3.Alignment & Influencing

  • It is essential to lead the alignment of all initiatives, and to influence and convince their stakeholders of the required changes to execute digital roadmap.

a) Managing complex experience design tasks on projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
b) Acting as a bridge between business teams and technical teams.
c) Presenting a strong rationale for design decisions
d) Strong understanding of analytics and the ability to communicating how analytics they affect design decisions

4.Testing & Launching

a) Leading user research and usability testing. Coordinate teams to aggregate and communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design and design rationale, both verbally and visually
b) Work with in-house and external web development teams to develop and launch web projects, enhancements and day to day web operations including: Amadeus network of websites, Amadeus social media channels, the Amadeus blog and other channels that support it.
c) Evaluate technologies and strategies, and execute to support increasing brand/product awareness, further engage web visitors and increase web lead conversion.

Requirements

  • Years of experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in digital design practice
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field. Masters Degree in Business and/or Marketing
  • Experience gleaning actionable insights from marketing results datasets
  • Experience with web/social analytics, personalization, A/B testing and marketing automation tools/platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience and portfolio examples of complex design problem-solving efforts
  • Demonstrable understanding of all aspects of web strategy, including but not limited to information architecture, user experience, web design, content strategy, search, conversion optimization, analytics and development.
  • Knowledge of web technologies and associated accessibility standards (HTML, CSS, Ja-vaScript, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, methodologies, best practices and approaches, particularly as applied to web- and mobile-based applications
  • Excellent oral & written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and commitment to deadlines, processes and policies.
