Sketchin, for its Spanish team based in Madrid, is looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer. He/She works within an interdisciplinary design team to plan and define digital experiences, relying on a wide range of skills, from interaction design to experience and service design.

He/She uses prototyping, visual and animation skills to mould the experience that the end-users live through products, services, systems and brands.

As a team member, he/she should be able to handle projects at every stage of the lifecycle from the initial assessment and research phase to the final delivery.
Sketchin is a seriously collaborative work environment, so UX/UI Designers need to collaborate across disciplines on a daily basis, from copywriting to analytics to client services. He/She also will mentor junior designers and help shape their personal skills and design perspective.

The Senior UX/UI Designer should be a global mind with an international approach who is available to work in Madrid, but also to travel abroad. Sketchin is establishing its international hub in the heart of Spain, and we are welcoming designers open to new challenges and inclined to travel.

The sketchin headquarter is based in Switzerland, with outposts in Milan, Rome, and Madrid.

Thus, you might work for clients around Europe and therefore, availability to carry out activities locally is required.


  • Work with sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate with stakeholders and validate concepts and hypotheses with our end users.
  • Plan and execute information design, touchpoint prototyping, and design specifications.
  • Work closely with researchers/service designers contributing to the improvement of the design quality and final user experience.
  • Maintain trustworthy relationships with clients all around Europe and Latam, receiving acknowledgements during the whole product development lifecycle.
  • Manage the interaction design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource, needs and schedules.
  • Collaborate with product owners and leaders to drive product strategy and the development roadmap.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience designing UX/UI and visual interfaces for complex projects on web, tablets and mobile touchpoints.
  • Strong knowledge of user centered design processes and passionate about solving complex UX challenges.
  • Strong background in user interface, interaction design and visual design.
  • Proficiency in using prototyping tools and softwares (eg. Axure, Sketch, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Coding skills are extremely appreciated.
  • A hands-on UX/UI Designer that is proficient both in interaction design and user research techniques and user testing.
  • Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, Flash, and CSS.
  • Excellent portfolio showcasing design solutions and strategic approaches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences.
  • Ability to understand the impact of technology on design deliverables.
  • Love both strategy and hands-on UX.
  • Knowledge of agile approaches and techniques.
  • A background in motion design, animation and information visualization will be considered as a plus.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, set Design Sprints and hold seminars and training sessions will be considered as a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
  • A love of collaboration and learning.
  • A fearless and positive attitude.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in design, interaction design, fine arts, or a related design discipline.
  • Full working proficiency in both Spanish (possibly mother tongue) and English at least. Italian or other languages will be considered as a plus.
