New Relic is looking for a new Sr. Design Manager to lead and manage a talented and high-performing team of designers in Barcelona. We will be looking to you to help build a culture that’s empowering, collaborative, and pushes the boundaries of great design for our customers.


  • Lead and manage a talented and high-performing team of user experience designers in Barcelona. With a passion for developing others, you'll coach and inspire your team towards success
  • Help drive New Relics Design Language strategy and evangelize good design practices, principles, process and patterns, throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Partner with product management, engineering, and research to ensure projects are well-defined, high impact, and successfully executed
  • Work closely with design leadership to ensure a cohesive user experience across all products and help execute New Relics business goals in EMEA
  • Build strong communication and coordination channels with the rest of the distributed Design organization
  • Give constructive design feedback on visual comps and assets
  • Be intentional, purposeful, bold, authentic and humble


  • 6+ years of professional experience in interaction design and user-based research methods
  • 3+ years of design management, guiding people and projects through complicated territory, with consistently high-quality results
  • BA/BS or Design, User Experience, Human Computer Interaction, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven success integrating research, design, technical development and business strategy within an organization
  • Experience with the creation of design systems and componentization
  • Experience attracting, hiring, coaching and retaining top design talent
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Business level fluency in English is essential as we are a US based company
