The Digital Creative Director must seek out opportunities to create innovative approaches to concept and strategic. You will be a captivating storyteller who bring the team’s work to life and drive success with the client. The role will oversee interdisciplinary teams through research, strategy development, concept, product definition, and design. In addition to project work, the Digital Creative Director will help to shape the digital creative department, manage and mentor other interaction designers, and play a major role in business development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee any digital project deliverables, (such as strategic vision briefs, concepts, wireframes, site maps, workflows, etc.) while partnering with other disciplines for an innovative final product.
  • Be hands on, should it be required.
  • Work closely with clients guiding brainstorms, leading working sessions, and giving senior presentations.
  • Grow and advise more junior talent across the business.
  • Collaborate with Client Services to create project scopes, schedules, and road maps.
  • Plan and conduct user requirements gathering and analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing.
  • Produce user requirement specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, prototypes, and design specifications
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually.
  • Manage the interaction design team to drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource needs and schedules.
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes visual designers, project managers, product strategists, and developers.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience creating concept and resolving strategic problems.
  • Successful track record leading interdisciplinary teams in creating products that consider innovation and usability.
  • Detail-oriented and highly developed organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience dealing with senior clients.
  • Possesses an engaging presentation style and solid writing and visual communication skills.
  • Works collaboratively with others.
  • Open to feedback and knows how and when to defend design choices.
  • Must be a self-starter who will bring original ideas and fresh approaches to each project they work on.
  • Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to web-based applications.
  • Demonstrable experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions - must have an intermediate understanding of major web analytics packages and SEO strategies.
  • Strong self-management skills as well as the ability to work as a contributing member of a multi-discipline team.
  • Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Visio.
  • BS/BA in Design, HCI or related degree preferred.

  • Good English oral and written communication skills.
